Lotus Place in South Brisbane brings four organisations together under one roof. The Merivale Street premises will house the Historical Abuse Network for people who experienced abuse in institutions, foster care and detention, the Esther Centre for addressing the abuse of power in human services & faith communities, the Forde Foundation and the After Care Resource Centre.
Lotus House provides resources, support, counselling, a drop in centre and advocacy says Esther centre Coordinator.
Former residents and their families are welcome to join us at "Drop In Day" each Tuesday.
Each week we come together to share a meal prepared by HAN members. This time together creates opportunities for people to provide informal peer support for each other. "Drop In Day" continues to be an important base for many friendships to be nurtured and for people to gain a sense of community in their life with people who have had common experiences in childhood.
